Here, we demonstrate that humans can live in a way that heals the soil rather than depleting it. Located at the base of the majestic mountains of Northern El Salvador, our project is a testament to the resilience of nature. We invite you to step into a world where modern comfort meets ancestral wisdom.
Bamboo is the soul of our farm. As one of the fastest-growing plants on earth, it is a massive carbon sink, helping to combat climate change. At La Esquinita, we manage several species of bamboo, selecting the best stalks for construction, furniture, and artisanal crafts. Our buildings are “carbon-negative,” meaning they store more carbon than was used to build them—a blueprint for the future of housing in El Salvador.
The history of La Esquinita del Bambú is a story of faith in nature’s ability to bounce back. Years ago, the land we stand on was used as a dumping ground. It was compacted, polluted, and forgotten. Our mission was to prove that no land is beyond saving. We began by clearing tons of debris, followed by the slow, rewarding work of soil regeneration. By using organic bio-solutions and natural irrigation, we turned gray waste into green life.
Endangered Tree Nursery
We actively scout for and protect endangered native tree species of the region. We raise them in our nursery to ensure their genetics are preserved and eventually replanted in the wild.
The Fruit Forest
Our diverse orchards boast a wide range of fruit trees—from heirloom citrus and mangoes to exotic varieties—providing year-round food for humans and local wildlife.
The Animal Sanctuary
We provide a permanent home for local wildlife. Every animal is a coworker in our permaculture system, helping with fertilization and pest control while living a life of dignity and care.
Our goal is to offer a full-time cultural and educational centre for our local community where people from all cultures and backgrounds can learn new skills and change the way they view the natural world. With your support we can achieve a number of exciting projects in the coming years:

Our farm is a peaceful, inspiring venue for your next event with beautiful bamboo meeting spaces, natural trails, swimming pool, cafeteria, treehouse and many resting spots in nature. Our main events space offers stable Wi-Fi, projector and audio system and we can also arrange food and accommodation if required.
